ACPT v2.0.0 is finally here

The first beta of ACPT v2.0.0 is finally available for download!

This new version marks the start of a new era for this plugin.

Let’s see what’s new here.

New UI

The UI was entirely re-designed and rewritten from absolutely scratch.

React version was upgraded from 16 to 18, and every library was updated to the latest version.

Tons of new lines of code!

The new UI has a more modern touch and it is considerably much faster than v1.0.x’s one.

Meta groups finally!

Finally, meta fields are aggregated into groups.

So, now the fields are freely assignable to any custom post type, taxonomy, option page, and/or user.

This means that you can reuse your fields in different post types with no need to copy them over and over again.

A completely new meta field manager

With the new UI, the meta field manager was improved.

A new tab (VALIDATION) is now available to add dedicated validation rules to meta fields.

Bulk actions (copy, duplicate, and delete) feature were finally introduced to speed up work.

Support for keyboard controls was dropped.

Better relationship handling

The relationship field was rewritten from scratch.

The UI is now more rational and orderly, and the backend logic has changed.

The most significant improvement is that now is possible to relate not just two custom post types, but also taxonomies, users, and option pages.

Better template handling

Template handling was improved.

The logic of template assignment now adopts the same logic of meta field groups.

A form builder!

This was the most rated feature by the users on the roadmap.

ACPT 2.0.0 brings this brand new builder, which in this first release can work in four different modes:

• custom AJAX action
• custom PHP action
• external action
• filling meta fields action

Anti-spam field (Google recaptcha) is already included.

The form can be displayed with a simple shortcode, so it can be used everywhere in any WordPress application.

When V2.0.0 will be declared stable?

Hopefully in one month v2.0.0. should be declared stable and ready for production environments.
