Flexible content field
This field is supported starting by v1.0.170.
Quick tour
In this video, every basic aspect of the Flexible content field is covered:
Once you select Flexible content from the field list, the block editor appears.
The block editor is like a meta box, it allows the creation of nested fields, as many as you need.
Every block can be copied, duplicated, deleted, or collapsed, as well as the meta boxes.
Advanced properties
The Flexible content field allows two additional properties in the advanced field settings panel:
- Minimum blocks allowed – The limit on how many blocks are required ([1-100])
- Maximum blocks allowed – The limit on how many blocks are allowed ([1-100])
If not blank, all those settings are automatically applied to the data validation on saving events in the Editor.
Using the Flexible content field
On the WordPress Editor, press the “Add block” dropdown button and select the block to add.
A new block is appended; now you can add, delete, and sort elements inside of it, exactly like the Repeater field.
Please note that the blocks can be sorted as well as the fields. Multiple instances of the same block can be added.
